Bitcoin Casinos Review – The 5 Best Sites for Bitcoin Gambling

I admit, gambling has never been my strong suit. Even though I enjoy the occasional online poker session I don’t tend to make this a habit. However, as someone who lives in a country that considers gambling illegal, I know that it can be a real pain to find a casino that accepts players from such countries.

Nowadays casinos have a new solution for this issue – Bitcoin. Since Bitcoin is somewhat anonymous many Bitcoin casinos have started popping up since authorities can’t regulate or enforce these casinos. This is a very dangerous situation where people are depositing their Bitcoins into sites that may not even be provably fair (we will get to this in a minute).

So this post has two objectives:

  1. Get you to understand what you need to check in a casino BEFORE putting your money in it
  2. Review the top 5 Bitcoin casinos in my opinion

As I said in the beginning, I’m not that big a fan on online casinos, so my review will be based on user reviews and a detailed examination of each website. But let’s get to it…

4 crucial questions to ask every Bitcoin casino

Is the casino Provably fair?

Whenever you play at a casino (physical or virtual one) there’s always the suspicion that the house may be cheating. Of course with the more respected casinos this is rarely the case, but if you go to a somewhat unknown Bitcoin casino site online, how can you know that you are getting the winning odds you’re supposed to get?

A trustworthy Bitcoin casino will know that their “house edge” is enough to make a profit and therefor will want to prove to their players that they are not manipulating any results. They do this through a mathematical algorithm involving cryptography (read the detailed explanation here).

Bottom line, a provably fair casino will show you how to check that the results of the game you play are completely random. Here’s an example from BitStarz. If a casino can’t supply this proof or isn’t provably fair I suggest betting with caution.

Is the casino licensed and regulated (and by whom)?

Just like you want to make sure the casino is provably fair you also want to make sure the casino is licensed and regulated. This will be another step towards validating the trustworthy of the specific casino. Most licensed sites will have a link to their licensing certificate somewhere around the lower part of their home page (i.e. the footer).

In order to assure that the licensing of a specific website is actually worth anything, it’s important to see where it was licensed. For example, a Bitcoin casino licensed and regulated under the UK gambling commission is much more trustworthy than a Bitcoin casino licensed under the Curacao eGaming license.

What license and regulation means basically is that if you find out a casino is cheating you from your money you can complain to the registerer to take action against them. If the registerer has no real power, or just doesn’t care they will not do anything to pursue your complaint. Unfortunately today most of the Bitcoin casinos are regulated under the Curacao eGaming license and do not supply adequate protection for their customers.

What are the casino’s payment terms?

Each Casino has their own payment terms. These include:

  • Minimum payouts
  • Accepted payment methods and currencies
  • Fees for withdraws and deposits

Each casino displays this information differently, some will have it on their FAQ pages while others will have a dedicated payments page with this info. You need to make sure that the casino accepts your preferred payment method and to be aware of the minimum balance to withdraw your funds.

Does this casino offer support?

Last but definitely not least, how well is the online support for the Bitcoin casino. Fortunately this can be tested very easily by opening a ticket before spending a dime at the casino. A well supported Bitcoin casino will have multiple support channels such as social media, email support and an online chat with a rep ready to answer your questions right away.

This is important since if something goes wrong with your deposit, withdrawal or anything else you’ll want to talk to someone fast. My suggestion is to prefer casinos that offer the live chat option.

The 5 best Bitcoin casinos currently available

Now that we’ve covered the basics of the different Bitcoin casinos out there, let’s review the top 5 Bitcoin casinos according to user reviews and my own personal analysis.

#1 – Bitstarz

The most popular Bitcoin casino out there is undoubtably Bitstarz. The casino is provably fair and regulated under the Curacao government. It offers around 600 high quality games, however it does not offer a sportsbook feature (where you can bet on popular sporting events).

Bitstarz also accepts multiple currencies and isn’t limited only to cryptos. Deposits can be made via Mastercard, Skrill, Neteller, Bitcoin and various other methods making it highly accessible to worldwide users, even those who don’t own Bitcoin. Support is available through social media, online chat and email. It’s also probably the most appealing casino out there in terms of design.

What really caught my eye about Bitstarz is the fact that they respond to user complaints even via Reddit, which shows they care about their customer experience and are willing to step up when needed.

#2 – Fortune Jack

Established in 2014 Fortune Jack is probably the most trusted Bitcoin casino out there. It is provably fair and regulated by the Curacao government. There are over 500 games available on Fortune Jack. Deposits are available through several cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Dash and many more.

There is a robust support system to the website in the form on online ticketing, online chat and several social channels as well. It currently is one of the most visited Bitcoin casinos available today.

#3 – mBit

Established in early 2014,  mBit is a Curacao regulated casino that puts an emphasis on anonymous betting. The casino offers a variety of games including live dealers. You get a 110% deposit bonus when you deposit, however deposits are only available via Bitcoin.

There are 236 games on mBit Casino and online support is available as well in the form of a chatroom. Keep in mind that just like BitCasino, mBit isn’t provably fair.

#4 – BitCasino

BitCasino is one of the oldest Bitcoin casinos around. It started out in 2013 and has been supplying over 600 types of casino games ever since. The casino is regulated by the government of Curacao, however it is not provably fair.

What makes BitCasino better than Crypto Games is its wide variety of games (including live casino games), and the fact that it supplies new players with bonuses for each deposit into your casino account. This is basically a way to get people to deposit money sooner. BitCasino supports only Bitcoin at the moment and no other currency is allowed for deposits or withdrawals.

#5 – Crypto Games

This casino website is 2 years old and offers only 5 game types: Slots, BlackJack, Roulette, Lotto and Dice. It accepts 8 types of currencies – Bitcoin, Litecoin, Doge, Dash, Ethereum, Gridcoin, Peercoin and Play money. It’s provably fair and offers offline support only through email or their BitcoinTalk thread (no online chat).

Crypto Games is one of the more popular Bitcoin casinos around probably due to its simple interface and the fact that you don’t even have to register to start playing. It also accepts US players, but this is perhaps due to the fact that the company isn’t registered or regulated anywhere so bet with caution.

Have you had any experience with Bitcoin casinos online? I’d love to hear about it in the comment section below.

Owner at 99 Coins ltd.
Blogger and owner of 99Bitcoins. I've been dealing with Bitcoin since the beginning of 2013 and it taught me a lesson in finance that I couldn't get anywhere else on the planet. I'm not a techie, I don't understand "Hashes" and "Protocols", I designed this website with people like myself in mind. My expertise is online marketing and I've dedicated a large portion of 99Bitcoins to Bitcoin marketing.

  1. Hey I have a question!! If you use bitcoin if you were to withdraw, you dont have to prove who you are…? the reason im asking is because and this may have been like the dumbest thing i could have ever done but again i dont know because i am NEW. I asked BitStarz if they accepted US players they said no and she wasnt very nice about it either. What exactly does this mean? Is it like a dont ask sont tell kinda thing? I see where people say US platers welcome but they when i get there im not welcome.

OHHH is there a difference between a casino saying- US Players Welcome VS Us Players Accepted??

    • Ofir Beigel on

Hi vivian, I’m really not sure. But as far as I know you don’t have to prove your identity. The only thing is that they monitor IP addresses and probably block US players.
You could use a VPN to disguise your location and I think that will be fine, but again, I’m not entirely sure.

  2. I have played at all of them. I also play a good deal in actual brick and mortar casinos. My conclusion is, regardless of claims of “provably fair”, not a single one has proven to be so far. Provably fair is only as good as the algorithm. The outcome may be just based on the players choice and the algorithm but it certainly is not anything like the random play of an honestly shuffled deck of cards. I know basic strategy backwards and forwards. I can count cards but that does nothing to help an online game. I am not the greatest player in the world but I am pretty good. There is just no way I can see the results I have had as anything but some form of cheating. Bitstarz, being one of the biggest offenders in my opinion.

  3. Has anyone tried to play on I like poker and they have regular scheduled freerolls… they also have casino slots and table games and stuff like that. I just wondered, how come it didn’t make the top 5 on your list? ~\_(“,)_/~ just wondered… =)

btw, great job!!! Your site is nice and very informative. It doesn’t overwhelm, and it doesn’t make a noob feel silly for not knowing what technical terms mean. I mean, I appreciate that I barely came across any terms I didn’t understand that didn’t have an explanation of what it is (either a link, or defining it within the sentence itself, or both.) Make sense? Well, bottom line… Continue what you guys do, you guys are doing a very good job. Thank you.

  4. Hello Ofir,
Thank you for the unbiased review of bitcoin casinos. I agree with Chris that it’s good to spread a word and bring bitcoins closer to people, who might not have used them before. Most importantly Bitcoin gives you a freedom of choice.. doesn’t matter if it’s about playing online games or some other activity.

If you haven’t tried playing with bitcoins yet, then basically I would suggest to pay attention to two things while choosing bitcoin casino website: Bonuses & Reviews.

    ** Bonuses **
For example at BitStarz you don’t even need to put your own money in to give our games a try. As a new player you will get 20 Free Spins instantly on sign up, so you can see how it all works. Then if you decide to continue, you can either use bitcoins or any other currency from our list.

In order to buy bitcoins you can check reviews of companies like: cubits, circle, cex. On your first deposit you will get 1BTC + 180 Free Spins extra. In any way our Support Team is there on LiveChat to help you with any issue.

    ** Reviews **
BitStarz is well known casino in bitcoin industry. Not to break rules, I will not post any direct links here, but you can easily find reviews from other players in google or youtube. Players love that withdrawals usually take on average less than 10 minutes.

Will be glad to see you on our website.
If there is anything we or I personally can help you with, please let me know.

  5. Yes Provably Fair means nothing.
First of all why would they (most of the sites) agree to change the client’s seeds if it is provably fair.
There is a general conception that in a long enough time you will always lose.
I have never deposited any personal money but I made from a 1000 satoshis to 100,000 satoshis and back to zero in an hour.
Even using strategies you will win initially but lose afterwards.

One Advice: If you do want to gamble big money then never use automated betting.

  6. Provably Fair means absolutely nothing. I ran tests on a number of sites about a year ago across multiple games and proved beyond a doubt all of the online sites pushing provably fair are not fair at all. I uncovered winning % drop with larger bet amounts. Also, on a few dice sites I bet tiny amounts 0.00001 BTC or whatever (1 cent bets) over thousands of dice rolls and proved their % win rate is bogus too.

The only online bets I would recommend would be live dealer tables; or sports betting and to find the best odds for the sport/game you are betting on. At least with sports betting provably fair doesnt make a difference. just my 2 cents.

  7. I like this kind of article. Spreading awareness and illustrating how successful Bitcoin casinos function towards new and experienced players. BitStarz is somehow involved with a player withdrawal issue but that’s for another topic. Nonetheless, I’m a fan of mBit Casino.

Hey Ofir, its a very interesting blog. I like reading such articles who create interest while reading. I enjoyed reading the information which you have shared. And I am really thankful that you shared information about Bitcoin casinos. There are very few who actually share useful things about Bitcoin. Keep sharing more interesting information.
