Ten months without a breakout is a long time to wait. That drought frames the latest Claude AI price prediction, where the model predicts Ethereum reaching $3,500 to $4,000 by year-end 2026, with $3,800 as the realistic base case.
On August 17, Tom Lee noted ETH trading just 3.5% below the top of its daily Ichimoku Cloud. That zone has capped price since October 2025. Clearing it would be the first break in roughly 10 months. It would also act as a technical trigger for renewed momentum rather than another failed bounce.

The timing lines up with two other shifts. The ETH/BTC ratio has climbed to 0.02994, reversing months of underperformance. Flows tell the same story. July spot ETH ETF inflows of $365 million outpaced BTC ETF inflows for the first time since 2024.
Treasury demand has not paused either. BitMine’s treasury neared its 5% ETH supply target this month after more than 60 consecutive weekly purchases. The bear case starts with track record. Lee’s own $10,000 and $7,000 to $9,000 calls both missed badly in the past year. The technical risk follows. A failed cloud breakout risks a slide back toward $1,700.
Ethereum Price Prediction: Claude AI Predicts the Ceiling Finally Cracks
The weekly view shows why this level matters so much. Ethereum price peaked near $4,950 in September 2025 and spent the following year unwinding that entire advance.
February 2026 dumped price to $1,500 on the weekly low. Spring built a recovery toward $2,400 that stalled, and June sent Ethereum price back to $1,510.
July and August rebuilt a base near $1,900. The most recent weekly candle broke it decisively.

Ethereum closed at $2,508.7, up $45.9 for a weekly gain of 1.86%, with a range from $2,405.3 to $2,566.0. The wide range and higher close signal buyers absorbing supply rather than chasing.
Resistance sits at $2,566.0, then $2,800, then the $3,200 shelf from January. Support runs through $2,405 and $2,200, with $1,900 as the structural floor.
Weekly RSI reads 60.22 against a signal line at 40.91. The 19 point gap is wide, but the absolute reading is nowhere near overbought.
That combination is unusual and constructive. Momentum has turned sharply higher from a depressed base, leaving room to run before anything looks stretched.
The cloud is the last obstacle. Break it and $3,800 becomes the working target.

Ethereum’s next move depends on finally escaping a technical ceiling that has held for most of the year. Bitcoin Hyper is targeting a different ceiling entirely: Bitcoin’s limited execution layer.
The project uses the Solana Virtual Machine to bring faster transactions, low fees, and smart contract functionality into a Bitcoin Layer 2 environment. Its Canonical Bridge is designed to move BTC into that ecosystem, while HYPER powers gas, staking, and governance across the network.
That gives Bitcoin Hyper a simple thesis. Bitcoin already has the liquidity, security, and brand. What it still lacks is the kind of programmable infrastructure that lets more of that capital move through DeFi and applications.
Bitcoin Hyper’s presale has already raised more than $33 million, with buyers currently able to stake HYPER for yields of up to 36% APY ahead of the planned 2026 launch.
