While OpenSea has quickly moved to deny rumors of an upcoming NFT airdrop, BTCBULL will be airdropping BTC to its holders.
NFT marketplace OpenSea has denied rumors regarding an NFT airdrop, calling them “completely false” while urging community members to rely only on its official social media platforms for information.
Yesterday (February 10), eagle-eyed members of the NFT spotted an OpenSea website containing terms and conditions for an airdrop.

VPNs Banned, KYC And AML Checks All Part Of The T&C’s For Alleged OpenSea Airdrop
X was flooded with screenshots and individuals reporting that OpenSea would require users to meet specific criteria before qualifying to receive an airdrop.
These checks included banning VPNs while also being subjected to Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks. The ban on VPNs led many to believe that some countries would be ineligible to participate in the airdrop.
The OpenSea Foundation was quick to make a statement on X, saying that the rumors were false and stressing that users should only trust information on its official communications platforms.
OpenSea CEO Devin Finzer replied to the post, calling the information “completely false.” However, Finzer’s post did tease some big announcements on the way, saying, ” There’s a lot to be excited about, but we’ll share when we’re ready, and you’ll hear it from us first.”
So @opensea had a portal (now unavailable/taken down) for their alleged airdrop, with Terms and Conditions that was one-sided (towards OpenSea) and unfavourable towards the users, and said in plain terms "CONNECT YOUR WALLET TO REVIEW AND SIGN THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS".

OpenSea CEO Calls The Airdrop Page A “Test Website”
While the executive said all that information was false, he later clarified on X that the site was a “test website” and that information found there was not the actual terms and conditions but only “boilerplate language.”
Since its Cayman Islands registration was revealed in December 2024, which opens the platform up to the possibility of a regulation-free airdrop, NFT community members have been excited about a possible token drop.
Many long-term users of OpenSea called for loyalty to be rewarded for any potential airdrop. Others said they hoped the platform would consider heavy trading volumes when calculating any airdrop.
After OpenSea opened its private beta to NFT holders in January, it was met with backlash and dissatisfaction regarding access and airdrop mechanics.
Some reported that the marketplace didn’t offer retroactive points for long-term users. However, Finzer assured the community that they hadn’t forgotten the OGs who helped build the space, but no more information was provided at the time.
