On most CeFi (centralized crypto finance) platforms, product rollout and budget decisions are usually made by the operator – but CoinDepo has allowed holders of its native COINDEPO token to weigh in on its own development through the platform’s built-in governance process. The company itself still builds and runs the products, while holders can vote on selected questions, such as which new digital asset to add to the platform’s already extensive list, how charity donations should be allocated, and whether a proposed exchange listing is worth the spend.
Exchange Listing Capital Stayed on the Sidelines
CoinDepo’s most recent governance vote involved a spending decision rather than a product launch. The platform had preliminary approval for a possible listing on Bit2Me, a Spanish exchange founded in 2014 and authorized under the European Union’s MiCA framework. The question put to holders was whether to use Token Ecosystem resources on that listing now, or keep them for later exchange opportunities, including potentially larger venues.
The community ultimately decided to preserve the required funds, and CoinDepo responded by announcing that it will not proceed with the Bit2Me listing under the current proposal. It also said that exchange expansion options remain under review, and that reserved resources can be considered for later proposals. Major follow-on decisions may return to a vote.
Two Asset Votes Led to New Live Products
The platform’s first completed asset-related vote asked which cryptocurrency CoinDepo should add next. 648 participants selected EURC (the euro-backed stablecoin), and the company promptly finished the integration. EURC is now available for users to deposit; CoinDepo has stated that interest can reach 16% per year, depending on the payout term selected.
A later ballot, which closed on September 18, selected SUI (the native asset of the Sui network) ahead of other candidates, including Zcash and Hyperliquid. That integration is also complete, meaning CoinDepo account holders can deposit SUI with interest rates of up to 17% per year on the longest payout term.
In both cases, the sequence was fundamentally the same: holders picked the asset, and CoinDepo handled all of the technical and operational work.
Charity Votes Decide Key Partners and Donation Splits
The same process has been applied to CoinDepo’s Charity Pool. After an earlier allocation vote, the company completed a $21,000 round supporting all three partners then on the roster: $10,000 to World Child Cancer for work in Ghana, $10,000 to GiveDirectly for cash transfers in Rwanda, and $1,000 to Damark for community programs in South Africa. Transaction links were published with the result.
Holders have also voted on a new addition to that list: in a separate ballot, 567 participants backed a collaboration with Action Against Hunger. CoinDepo said it would commit to the partnership and follow with an initial donation, then further monthly contributions from the pool. After the collaboration was formalized, the company announced an initial donation in support of Action Against Hunger’s humanitarian programs in Kenya.
The September round, the first to include CoinDepo’s new charity partner, allocated $31,000 under the option that funded all four organizations. World Child Cancer, GiveDirectly, and Action Against Hunger each received $10,000; Damark received $1,000. CoinDepo published the split and a transaction link for each payment, and the company has tied those sums to programs in Ghana, Rwanda, Kenya, and South Africa, respectively.
How Voting Works on CoinDepo
COINDEPO token holders are able to cast their votes through the CoinDepo platform’s interface. Final results and records are published on IPFS (the InterPlanetary File System), with Bitcoin timestamp proofs. Daily snapshots of COINDEPO token balances are published in the same way and are used to calculate Governance Scores. The records, proofs, and notes covering CoinDepo’s actions after each vote are available on the company’s public governance page.
The completed CoinDepo governance votes now cover two assets added to the platform, charity allocations with published payments, the selection of a new charity partner, and a decision to preserve listing resources. COINDEPO holders will continue to vote on future asset choices, ecosystem projects, and other decisions.
