Unstoppable Domains and Tetherball, a meme coin project on Solana, have partnered to launch the “t.ball” top-level domains.
Crypto protocols partner all the time. Binance and Coinbase, two of the largest enablers of crypto trading, have invested in multiple projects.
It’s the same thing; industry leaders are always fronting crypto-based solutions. To illustrate, Vitalik Buterin, among others, owns an Unstoppable Domains account.
Without collaboration, the sector becomes quite dull.
Tetherball and Unstoppable Domains Partner
While meme coins are feeling the bear punch, reeling from the dizzying drop of early this week, Unstoppable Domains, an OG platform and the provider of on-chain domain names, joined hands with Tetherball.
Tetherball is a meme coin project on Solana centered around Tether holding-minted stablecoins, sports, and Bitcoin.
In an exclusive press release shared with 99Bitcoins, Unstoppable Domains will allow Tetherball to launch what will arguably be the first meme coin top-level domain (TLD), “t.ball.”
With “t.ball” in the picture, the goal is to change how users interact with Tetherball and the broader crypto ecosystem.
As of early August, Tetherball has been rising in prominence, taking advantage of what Solana has to offer, that is, speed, scalability, and ultra-low fees.
Now, the launch of “t.ball” will allow community members to personalize their experiences, creating .tball domains.
Kuan-Ning Tseng, Co-founder of Tetherball, said this domain would be a gamechanger:
“The .tball domain extension is a game-changer for our users, offering seamless crypto transactions and unique digital identities. This partnership exemplifies our commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions and enhancing the user experience within the Tetherball ecosystem.”
Will TLDs Drive Demand And Inspire New Use Cases?
Like other Unstoppable Domains, these domains serve as digital identities and convenient means of sending or receiving coins.
Though the technology is transformative, it remains to be seen whether Tetherball users will create these TLD domains.
However, what’s clear to everyone is that .tball domains open up new possibilities for the meme coin industry.
If anything, if Tetherball continues expanding, it won’t be surprising to see other Solana, Avalanche, and even Ethereum meme coin projects scrambling for their TDL domains.
Sandy Carter, Chief Operating Officer at Unstoppable Domains, expects Tetherball to drive demand for new and better ways of engagement:
“The on-chain sector is expanding rapidly, with projects like Tetherball driving demand for new, better ways of engaging communities that take advantage of the transformative power of blockchain. Tetherball is pioneering this revolution in the memecoin space, and its model of promoting inclusivity and empowerment will surely become an example for the wider crypto community.”
If this is the case, as more people adopt TLD not only in Solana but other supported chains, the result will be a convenient, secure, and vibrant meme coin ecosystem for all users, regardless of experience.
