ETH ETF Trading has gone live, but will Ethereum prices benefit from institutional demand and how does this effect ETH price prediction.

ETH ETFs are now live in the US, giving the suits and ties over on Wall St. an easier entry point into investing in Ethereum, the second largest crypto.

Powerhouses like BlackRock and Fidelity, along with the crypto-centric Grayscale, have debuted their funds, marking a milestone in the fusion of traditional and digital finance.

“Ethereum’s decentralized nature and transformative potential in finance drive its appeal among investors.” – Jay Jacobs, U.S. Head of Active and Thematic ETFs at BlackRock

Yet, the elephant in the room—why hasn’t Ethereum exploded like Bitcoin did post-ETF launch back in January?

The Rise of Ether ETFs: A Shift in Investment Landscape

Bitcoin is widely recognized as the digital gold standard, but Ethereum led the way for decentralized apps that try to do more than just democratize finance.

This is why the ETH ETFs (exchange-traded funds) are huge, unlocking the potential for any crypto (Solana, Cardano…Doge?) to get one.

So far, Grayscale has transformed its giant ether fund into a pair of ETH ETFs tailored for different investor classes.

Ethereum’s price, however, has been nothing but a wet fart.

ETH is only up 1.09% over the last week on the news and hasn’t budged over $3,500 today.

Vivien Wong, Partner at HashKey Capital’s Liquid Funds, told Coinbase, “Market participants anticipate muted ETF inflows initially, with a watchful eye on Grayscale’s ETH Trust for potential market impacts.”

Ethereum’s ETF Utility and Inflation Concerns

Ether’s utility and staking features—missing from the ETF investment vehicles—are the hot topics in crypto circles. Investors are dissecting these nuances, hunting for clues on the real worth of these ETF products outside of getting Boomers and Wall St. involved.

Of course, the Bitcoin comparisons are flooding in. The buzz is all about whether Ethereum’s unique perks can cause it to outperform Bitcoin or if this disappointing price action leads to Solana overtaking Ether. Solana is confirmed to have an ETF on the way as well.

For now, the debate rages on whether Ethereum vs. Bitcoin will have a better 2024.
