Apart from the UAE Royal Group’s Bitcoin holding, the demand for Ethereum staking is also surging. There’s growing momentum in crypto in general as real-world assets begin blending traditional finance with decentralized tools.
Arkham owns crypto AI also uncovered big personal holders, like Michael Saylor, who owns over 17,000 BTC himself apart from Strategy. Governments, including the US and Bhutan, are in the game too. You hear it all the time, people are calling crypto a slot machine because of how wild it moves. But, that doesn’t tell the whole story. Memecoins like DOGE, SHIB, and PEPE show there’s more to this space than what casinos offer.
Take DOGE, for instance. It was sitting around 6 cents in early 2021 before a huge climb to 74 cents in a few months. SHIB also went up, recording a jump of more than 100 million percent. And PEPE? Launched in 2023 with a market cap of a few million to more than $4 billion market cap today.
Compare that to ETH. From 2023 to 2025, ETH rose from $1,200 to $4,800. A 300% return is great, no doubt. But in the same window, DOGE did over 950%. SHIB more than tripled too. Memecoins outpaced the king of smart contracts in some cases.

has approved one of the most ambitious upgrades in its history.
After a two-week governance process, more than 98% of validators voted to adopt the Alpenglow consensus protocol, with 52% of the total stake participating. The upgrade is expected to slash transaction finality from over 12 seconds to just 150 milliseconds, a speed more comparable to Web2 systems than today’s blockchains.
The Solana Foundation called the change “a step toward financial infrastructure that operates at internet speed,” arguing that Alpenglow could unlock new use cases requiring responsiveness and cryptographic certainty. So, will the Solana price follow?
