Skyren is a new decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem on the Polygon network. It offers staking, cross-chain portfolio tracking, and automatic airdrop claiming. Skyren is currently in presale, allowing investors to buy SKYRN tokens before the initial exchange listing.

But is Skyren legit or are there better alternatives in the market? Read on as we assess how Skyren works, its potential, and what risks to consider. I also explain how to buy Skyren via the ongoing presale event.

Key Takeaways

  • Skyren is a new DeFi startup on the Polygon network, offering staking, liquidity, and a DAO
  • The project says it claims airdrops on behalf of users, allowing SKYRN holders to earn tokens passively.
  • Skyren is selling SKYRN tokens at a presale discount, promising a 233% upside at launch.
  • Marketing Concerns: The project relies heavily on hype, including aggressive ads and crypto influencer promotions.
  • Skyren’s model raises red flags, with airdrop mechanics and presale gains potentially leading to a sell-off.

What Is Skyren (SKYRN)?

Skyren is one of the newest cryptocurrencies to enter the market. It’s a presale project on the Polygon network, aiming for market share in the multi-billion dollar DeFi scene. Its native token, SKYRN, lets you gain access to multiple Web 3.0 products, including competitive staking rewards and liquidity provision opportunities.

Skyren also offers an automated airdrop program for SKYRN holders. This allegedly enables holders to earn free airdrop tokens without participating in the respective campaign. Ordinarily, participants must engage with the airdrop to be eligible, such as sharing posts on X, joining the Telegram group, or performing transactions.

Skyren presale

However, no such participation is required, with Skyren claiming tokens and distributing them to its community. Skyren also streamlines the portfolio management process. It enables users to track and manage investments across multiple networks. All features will be available on the Skyren app for iOS and Android.

Why I Don’t Recommend Skyren

Could Skyren be one of the next cryptocurrencies to explode? I don’t think so.

Here’s why:

  1. For a start, Skyren has opted for the Polygon ecosystem, one of the slowest-growing layer-2 networks on Ethereum. Significantly higher capital flows can be found on other layer-2s, including Base and Arbitrum. Therefore, Skyren could struggle to attract sufficient investment from crypto whales and institutions.
  2. I also have doubts about some of Skyren’s core products. Not only does its automated airdrop system seem unethical but it remains to be seen whether projects will enable it. After all, airdrops typically require participation, offering liquid token rewards in return for helping them to grow. Skyren claims to bypass these conventional requirements, which is a red flag.
  3. Another issue is the presale pricing structure. Like many presales, early investors are rewarded with a lower cost basis. However, there’s a vast gap between the current and exchange listing prices.  For instance, those investing today are promised a 233% upside once SKYRN begins trading. This will likely result in a major sell-off, causing the SKYRN price to suffer.
  4. The token details is also questionable, with just 3% set aside for marketing. Limited visibility could harm the project’s long-term potential. In addition, just 5% of the SKYRN supply has been allocated to exchange liquidity. This could cause unprecedented volatility, meaning wild pricing swings for SKYRN holders.

Ultimately, these bearish viewpoints are subjective. Investors should conduct their own research when deciding whether to buy Skyren tokens.

How to Buy Skyren

Learn how to invest in Skyren tokens via the ongoing presale. We’ll now explain the required process step-by-step.

Step 1: Download a Crypto Wallet

First, download a crypto wallet. Best Wallet is a popular choice. It’s a free and secure wallet app for iOS and Android., and supports over 60 networks, including all cryptocurrencies accepted by the Skyren presale.

Download Best Wallet, create a PIN, and set up two-factor authentication for enhanced safety.

Step 2: Add Cryptocurrencies to the Wallet

Now add some cryptocurrencies to Best Wallet (or whichever wallet provider you’re using).

You can transfer cryptocurrencies to the wallet address provided or buy some with a credit card or e-wallet. Both options offer an anonymous and KYC-free experience.

Step 3: Register an Account

Unlike many presales, Skyren requires investors to open an account.

How to buy Skyren

This requires a name, email address, and password. Verify the account by clicking the link emailed by Skyren.

Step 4: Choose a Payment Crypto and Enter a Polygon Address

Now click the “Buy Token” button and choose which crypto you’ll use as payment. The most popular cryptocurrencies are accepted, ranging from BTC, XRP, and ETH to USDT, BNB, and TRX.

Next, provide Skyren with your Polygon wallet address. This is where the purchased SKYRN tokens will be transferred after the presale ends. Those using Best Wallet can get the Polygon address by clicking on “Polygon” followed by the copy icon.

Step 5: Enter Investment Size and Complete Presale Token Purchase

Now type in the number of Skyren tokens to buy. The dashboard will then show the equivalent of the crypto you use as payment. For instance, typing in 500 SKYRN shows 0.011 ETH.

How to buy Skyren

The amount shown is what must be transferred. Complete the presale purchase by transferring cryptocurrencies to the Skyren wallet address provided. SKYRN tokens will be distributed when the presale concludes.

Is Skyren a Good Investment?

Now we’ve explained buying Skyren, let’s assess whether it’s a good investment:

DeFi Ecosystem for Polygon

Skyren is building a DeFi ecosystem for the Polygon network. While Polygon was once the de-facto layer-2 network for Ethereum, its crypto market share is now minimal. For instance, Base currently has a 35% share, in terms of total value locked (TVL). Polygon has just under 9%. Weakened interest in Polygon could harm the Skyren price.

Nonetheless, its DeFi ecosystem has good network security and covers several products, including staking. Skyren is offering a huge staking APY of 216%. And an extra 76% for those investing in the presale. These APYs seem unsustainable, especially considering just 12.5% of the total SKYRN supply has been allocated to the staking pool.

Airdrop Rewards Without Participation

The Skyren website claims to offer third-party airdrop rewards for SKYRN holders. This means holders can avoid traditional airdrop processes, such as sharing and liking posts on social networks. Or performing transactions, such as adding liquidity to a DEX. Instead, users will allegedly receive tokens passively, with no manual input required.

This doesn’t seem credible. New projects offer airdrop rewards to grow and market their respective ecosystems, so participants must complete tasks. Otherwise, there’s no benefit to simply distributing tokens without anything in return. Therefore, we’re skeptical about this Skyren initiative.

Massive Presale Upside Isn’t Sustainable

I mentioned earlier that Skyren is offering a 233% upside for those investing in the presale today. How does this work? Well, the current presale price is $0.048 per token. After the presale, SKYRN will be listed on exchanges at $0.16. In theory, this provides immediate returns of 233% on the original investment.

However, it’s not that simple. On the contrary, many if not most early investors will look to cash out their gains. The SKYRN price could collapse, considering the significant selling pressure. What’s more, Skyren will have a small market capitalization when it’s listed. So the price decline could be rapid. For this reason, I don’t recommend Skyren as a viable presale investment.

Skyren Price Prediction

Read on for my Skyren price forecast. Let’s explore the potential future growth for the SKYRN price.

Skyren Price Prediction 2025

Skyren must complete its presale campaign before being listed on exchanges. The presale price increases as each stage is completed, providing an artificial upside for most participants. Skyren’s presale ends in June 2025, meaning early buyers won’t be able to touch their invested funds for several months.

Nonetheless, $0.16 is the exchange listing price. I predict that many presale buyers will sell their tokens immediately. The reason for this is simple – everyone will aim to lock in the massive presale upside available. Therefore, I expect substantial selling pressure, with Skyren hitting lows of $0.045 in 2025. This would represent a slight loss of 6% based on current prices.

Skyren Price Prediction 2026

My Skyren price prediction for 2026 is less clear. If its Polygon ecosystem is actively used by DeFi investors, the SKYRN price could benefit. Especially if Skyren attracts institutional investment. However, with poor tokenomics and a potential bear market in the broader industry (as per historical four-year cycles), I predict a declining SKYRN price.

Skyren price prediction

In my view, SKYRN could hit lows of $0.031 in late 2026. This would mean a 35% decline for those investing in the current presale stage. And even bigger losses for those buying SKYRN at the token generation event (TGE).

Skyren Price Prediction 2030

Skyren claims to be a long-term project, so it could still be relevant in 2030. If so, Skyren could benefit from Bitcoin’s fifth halving event, scheduled for 2028. This can encourage an even bigger bull cycle in the 18 months to follow. Therefore, I predict a modest recovery of the SKYRN price.

My research shows a potential 52-week high of $0.067 by the end of the decade. This would mean an upside of almost 40% from the current price price. Naturally, this wouldn’t represent viable returns for a four-year crypto investment, so caution is advised.

Is Skyren a Buy?

Consider the following pros and cons before buying Skyren tokens:

Pros:

  • Exposure to DeFi: Skyren provides exposure to the multi-billion dollar DeFi industry. Its initially low market capitalization will be attractive to growth investors. Staking, liquidity provision, and airdrops will be available on the Skyen app for iOS and Android.
  • Big Presale Discount: Presale investors get a big discount when investing early. Currently, there’s a 70% reduction based on the initial coin offering. However, whether this is sustainable remains to be seen.
  • DAO Elements: The Skyren ecosystem is governed by a DAO, a popular narrative for Web 3.0 stakeholders. Anyone holding SKYRN tokens can vote on important project proposals.

Cons:

  • Polygon is Losing Market Share: Skyren has opted for the Polygon network for its DeFi ecosystem. While Polygon offers fast transactions and low fees, its market share continues to decline. In contrast, Base and Arbitrum, also offering layer-2 services, continue to increase their user bases.
  • High Selling Pressure: Many crypto experts negatively point to Skyren’s presale upside. It’s simply not sustainable for presale buyers to immediately earn a 233% gain when SKYRN tokens are listed on exchanges. Most investors will have the same idea, meaning the SKYRN price could collapse.
  • Low Liquidity: As per the stated tokenomics, the Skyren team has allocated just 5% of the total supply for exchange liquidity. This minute amount could lead to extreme volatility once SKYRM tokens begin trading. Alongside the expected selling pressure, early presale buyers could witness declining prices from the get-go.

Best Crypto Presale to Buy Instead of Skyren

Overall, Skyren has done well to generate hype so early in its presale journey. However, closer inspection shows that presale investors should be cautious. Too many red flags have been identified, including unsuitable presale discounts, hyperbole marketing from YouTubers, and weak tokenomics.

Therefore, other options should be considered when exploring the best crypto presales. I’ve hand-picked three Skyren alternatives, summarized below.

1. Solaxy (SOLX) – World’s First Solana Layer 2 Project with Massive Staking Rewards

Solaxy is a trending presale project behind a new Layer 2 solution. Unlike most layer-2s, which are designed for the Ethereum ecosystem, Solaxy serves Solana. It offers off-chain verification, with transactions posted to the core blockchain in batches. This will help Solana tokens operate more efficiently and avoid constant network issues.

Solaxy presale

Solaxy’s advanced framework also ensures faster and more scalable transactions, with no limits on throughput. SOLX, the native token, has raised over $25 million in presale funding, with SOLX required when using its layer-2 network. Therefore, it has real-world utility, meaning solid long-term potential for SOLX holders.

2. BTC Bull Token (BTCBULL) – BTCBULL Token Holders Get BTC Airdrops When Bitcoin Hits New Highs

BTC Bull Token is another innovative presale project to watch, and a great alternative to Skyren. It’s a reward-based ecosystem based on Bitcoin milestones. BTCBULL holders benefit from the Bitcoin price in two ways. First, BTCBULL tokens are a deflationary asset, with the supply being reduced whenever Bitcoin hits $125,000, $175,000, $225,000, etc.

The team automatically purchases BTCBULL from the public float and removes the respective tokens from the supply.

BTC Bull Token presale

The second benefit is real BTC distributions whenever the Bitcoin price hits $150,000, $200,000, $250,000, etc. BTC Bull Token’s presale is going strong, with over $3 million already raised.

3. MIND of Pepe (MIND) – New AI-Driven Meme Coin Project Offering Token-Gated Insights

MIND of Pepe is one of the best Web 3.0 startups around right now. It’s an artificial intelligence (AI) agent, meaning it operates without human input. MIND of Pepe’s primary goal is to serve MIND holders and ensure its tokens become mainstream. It achieves this in a self-sovereign way, posting on X, replying to comments, and shaping narratives autonomously.

MIND of Pepe presale

MIND of Pepe becomes smarter as each day passes, with millions of social media posts, articles, and other data points in the crypto space analyzed around the clock. MIND of Pepe can also launch new tokens for its community, including smart contract development and DEX deployment. As such, it’s no surprise that MIND of Pepe has already raised over $7 million in presale funding.
