Rapper TyDolla$ign purchased half a million USD worth of Tron meme coin, SUNDOG, late last night before hilariously sending it to the contract address, making it irredeemable and, as a result, burning it forever – but Justin Sun was here to save the day.

It turns out even ‘Zaddy’s’ wallet isn’t immune to the crypto chaos. Ty Dolla $ign is a self-proclaimed Zaddy, a sexually attractive man, who is fashionable and charismatic. And now, the rapper who has sung about blowing through stacks of cash, knows what it feels like to blow through half a million in true crypto degen fashion.

TyDolla$ign Has Heart In The Mouth Moment As He Is Told His 6-Figure SUNDOG Bag Is Gone

The hip-hop artist had been flirting with Tron meme coins while interacting with boxer and SUNDOG shiller, Ryan Garcia over the past 6 days before finally taking the plunge of his 6-figure purchase.

Shortly after posting the screenshot of his SUNDOG bag, TyDolla$ign quickly tweeted ‘Yo, where my $SUNDOG at? I sent it to my TRX address and it ain’t showing???,’ with a link to the transaction of him sending his tokens to what he thought was his wallet.

The official Sundog X account responded by saying,’ Ser… did you really just burn your bag? You sent it to the contract address, ‘ while tagging Tron’s founder, Justin Sun, asking for help. In complete despair, the rapper replied, ‘So it’s gone?? What am I supposed to do now?’

‘It Ain’t Right, But It’s Okay’: Justin Sun To The Rescue – Is This All Real Or One Big And Expensive Marketing Move?

In what is hopefully the last insane twist in this short but crazy saga, Justin Sun has come to Dolla $ign’s rescue.

Less than an hour later, the Tron founder tweeted at the rapper to say, ‘Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. Sent you $500K TRX so you can get back in the game,’ along with a link to the transaction. Zaddy was quick to thank Sun, calling him ‘a real one.’

Many wonder if this was merely an (expensive) marketing ploy from Justin Sun and the SUNDOG team to push the token.

If so, it has resulted in $500,000 worth of tokens being burned forever, and Sun is effectively paying TyDolla$ign the same amount again to possibly re-buy his original bag of SUNDOG.

Despite all of the attention on Sundog, alongside a 6-figure burn, the meme coin is down -2.6% in the past hour, per CoinGecko.

This also raises bigger questions in the space, as several celebrities have been hit with lawsuits from the SEC after promoting cryptocurrencies.

Beyond this, there is some backlash online as investors feel a sense of injustice that a famous celebrity can be reimbursed for mistakes in an otherwise punishing crypto arena.
