Ripple’s CTO Emeritus David Schwartz has delivered a blunt reality check to the XRP community, and not everyone is happy about it. The XRP price is currently consolidating between $1.38 and $1.50, grinding upward from a recent low near $1.43 after a prior drop of over 50%, with price action described as notably flat despite the noise. Schwartz’s comments may explain why the charts look the way they do.

In recent statements, Schwartz pushed back hard against conspiracy theories suggesting Ripple is orchestrating a secret, large-scale adoption strategy with central banks. His message was direct: crypto markets are efficient over the long run, rational actors correct mispricings, and investors banking on hidden NDA-driven catalysts are “fooling themselves.”

He also dismissed the idea that Ripple’s non-disclosure agreements signal any imminent price-moving event. Community reaction split sharply; portions of the XRP Army pushed back on his refusal to validate $50–$100 price targets, while analyst Bird (@Bird_XRPL) argued the comments were misread and actually non-bearish, pointing to Schwartz’s historical underestimations, which included a famously conservative BTC call.

Meanwhile, $7.38M in XRP ETF inflows landed quietly in the background, suggesting institutional interest hasn’t evaporated, even as retail sentiment churns.

The XRP price is holding on for dear life, just above support at $1.38, with the asset down nearly -4% over the past week

Can XRP USD Break $1.80 as the Triangle Compresses?

XRP is caught in a classic technical squeeze. Price has been consolidating tightly between $1.35 support and $1.50 resistance, forming a symmetrical triangle pattern that technical analysts are watching closely. Symmetrical triangles are neutral formations; they don’t favor bulls or bears until a breakout confirms direction. The measured target on a clean upside break points to $1.80.

Momentum indicators sit in neutral territory. RSI and MACD signals show neither strong buying pressure nor aggressive selling, just slow accumulation, the kind that can precede a sharp move either way.

Market Cap

Three scenarios from here:

  • Bull case: XRP holds $1.38, breaks $1.50 with volume, and the triangle resolves upward toward $1.80. Upcoming catalysts, including the Bull Street app launch and potential DTCC on-chain integration, could provide the spark.
  • Base case: Continued range-bound consolidation between $1.38–$1.50 for days or weeks as the market digests Schwartz’s cold-water comments and waits for clearer signals.
  • Bear/invalidation: A decisive close below $1.38 flips that level from support to resistance and likely opens a deeper pullback toward the $1.20–$1.25 zone.

XRP’s long-term community targets of $100+ remain speculative at best. Even the more measured analyst prediction of a $1,000–$2,000 repricing event makes extraordinary assumptions about market-cap math.

For context: $1,000 XRP would imply a market cap exceeding global GDP, which is the kind of arithmetic Schwartz is almost certainly referring to when he talks about “fooling themselves.” Check out the full XRP price outlook for a deeper technical breakdown.

Bitcoin Hyper Targets Early Mover Upside as XRP Price Tests Key Levels

The XRP price consolidation tells a familiar story: established large-cap tokens offer legitimacy, but the asymmetric upside has already been largely priced in at multi-billion-dollar market caps.

For investors who believe in the broader crypto infrastructure thesis but want an earlier entry, the math starts looking very different at the presale stage.

Bitcoin Hyper ($HYPER) is positioning itself as a genuinely novel piece of crypto infrastructure: the first-ever Bitcoin Layer 2 with Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) integration.

The pitch is simple but technically ambitious, bringing Solana-grade smart contract speed and low fees to Bitcoin’s ecosystem, without sacrificing Bitcoin’s security and trust model.

The project claims sub-Solana latency on its Layer 2, which would address Bitcoin’s three core weaknesses simultaneously: slow transactions, high fees, and limited programmability.

The presale has raised $32.5M at a current token price of $0.0136792, with staking rewards available to early participants.
