On November 3, Wiz Khalifa’s X (formerly Twitter) account was hacked. The popular rapper, known for hits like “Black and Yellow” and “See You Again,” has over 35.7 million followers. The hackers used his account to promote a scam meme coin called WIZ crypto.

The hackers posted that Khalifa was launching a WIZ token. The meme coin launched on a Solana-based platform called Pump.fun.

WIZ quickly reached a market cap of $2.5 million in less than 15 minutes, but that didn’t last long. Early buyers, including hackers, quickly sold off, dragging WIZ to just under $8K market cap.

The hacker’s identity is still unknown. Blockchain analyst ZachXBT linked this attack to the hacker who took over Truth Terminal developer Andy Ayrey’s account on October 29.

ZachXBT warned users not to buy the WIZ crypto, saying the same hacker was behind Ayrey’s account hack.

Social Media Security Concerns – Wiz Khalifa Is Just The Last One To Get Hacked

The posts from Khalifa’s account have been deleted, but it’s unclear if Khalifa has regained control. This incident shows how vulnerable public figures are to account hacks. Hackers often use celebrity accounts to promote scams and exploit followers.

Not too long ago, 50 Cents X’s account was hacked to promote a meme coin scam.

People should be careful with investments promoted through social media. Hacked accounts can easily trick people into buying scam tokens.
