Tether, the company behind USDT, the largest stablecoin by market cap, is finally winding down its euro-backed stablecoin, EUR₮. announced the news on 26 November 2025 through a news update on its website. I say ignore this nothingburger when there’s new crypto, such as $BEST, to buy the panic.
With the wind-down of its EUR₮ operations, users will no longer be able to redeem EUR₮ on any blockchain. The company had already stopped creating new EUR₮ way back in 2022, and as such hasn’t issued any new tokens since.
Starting today, Tether will suspend redemption services for its Euro stablecoin EURT.

This closure is a part of Tether’s plan to simplify its operations and focus on projects and networks that provide more value to its users.
“Tether’s decision to wind down EUR₮ has not been taken lightly, but until a more risk-averse regulatory framework in Europe is in place, one that fosters innovation, offers the stability and protection users deserve, and avoids potential systemic risks, we have chosen to prioritize other initiatives,” said Paolo Ardoino, Tether’s CEO.
“Hadron by Tether will remain our priority in the region. It unifies a decade of Tether’s technology and know-how into a single platform, making asset tokenization more accessible and opening new avenues for issuance, investment, and core capital markets technology across institutions, fund managers, governments, and private companies,” Ardoino added.

S&P Cuts Tether’s Rating To ‘Weak’ Over Excess Bitcoin Reserves
S&P Global knocked Tether’s stability rating down by a peg on 25 November 2025, giving the world’s biggest stablecoin by market cap its lowest rating of 5 (weak).
The downgrade came after the financial rating company flagged more risk-prone assets in Tether’s reserves and persistent gaps in its disclosure of said reserves. The new rating is a step down from its earlier rating of 4 (constrained).

According to S&P, Tether has been loading up on riskier assets, including Bitcoin, gold, secured loans, and government bonds. Further, the agency said that these holdings come with limited disclosures and are exposed to risks like credit, market swings, interest rates, and foreign exchange.

The agency, however, maintained that Tether has managed to keep prices stable even during wild swings in the crypto market.
Tether understandably isn’t too happy with the rating and has strongly disagreed with S&P’s report. It argued that S&P is using “a legacy framework that fails to capture the nature, scale, and macroeconomic importance of digitally native money and overlooks data that clearly demonstrate USDT’s resilience, transparency, and global utility.”

Further, Tether fired back, saying it has “processed billions in redemptions while maintaining uninterrupted stability” and called its stablecoin a “systemically important financial infrastructure” in emerging markets.

$BEST Token Goes Live On MEXC Pre-Market Trading: Best New Crypto To Buy?
Best Wallet’s $BEST token is making all the right noises. It has already pulled in more than $17.5 million in its presale, and now the token has hit MEXC’s Pre-Market Trading.
So…what does this mean? Is it the best new crypto to buy right now?
Well, basically, MEXC users can trade $BEST tokens a few days before it officially lists. It’s like an early access pass that gives users a head start by allowing them to set their own prices or jump in on existing offers.

Things have to be kept fair, of course, and for that, traders need to put up collateral. Buyers use theirs to cover payments, while sellers get their funds after the transaction is completed.
To secure BEST before the presale closes, visit the Best Wallet presale website or purchase directly in-app using a bank card, ETH, or USDT.
