Ondo has kickstarted its big NY Ondo Summit Tomorrow with news of its brand new Global Markets tokenization platform – is ONDO the best RWA Crypto to buy?
The tokenized real-world asset issuer has launched ‘Ondo Global Markets’. It is a platform designed to offer on-chain exposure to highly coveted US public securities such as stocks, bonds and exchange-traded funds.
The Ondo Summit conference in New York doesn’t start until tomorrow (February 6), but Ondo has already kickstarted the bullish news with this announcement.

Ondo Global Markets Aiming To Be The Stablecoin Of Securities
“What stablecoins did for dollars, Ondo Global Markets will do for securities,” Ondo wrote in its announcement yesterday (February 4). “By leveraging blockchain technology, we can bring institutional-grade financial markets on-chain, making them more accessible, transparent, and efficient.”
Ondo GM is expected to solve issues in the current securities investment environment such as high fees, limited access, transfer friction and lack of interoperability.
The new platform will offer users access to over one thousand securities listed on the NYSE and NASDAQ. This will include fixed-income ETFs and individual stocks of companies such as Google and Tesla, per the announcement.
“Tokens issued in the Ondo GM platform will be each backed 1:1 by an underlying asset, like a public stock, and will be freely transferable, like stablecoins, outside the US,” the Ondo team said.
Apart from benefits to individual investors and issuers, Ondo said the platform can also provide a new distribution channel for asset managers to a global pool of investors.

Initially, Ondo planned for its tokenization platform planned to achieve its goal through a model where tokens would represent client instructions at traditional broker-dealers, in what would have been a fully permissioned system.
However, as the team spoke more with its key stakeholders, developers, TradFi partners, and current and former government officials, they realized that the world was ready for a framework more akin to stablecoins.
Similar to how stablecoins can be issued more freely, the top RWA coin plans to utilize the full potential of blockchain technology to offer a more open and accessible design. The ‘permissioned’ aspect is built into the distribution layer as needed for participants’ compliance, security or commercial purposes.
