Is SOL Back? PumpSwap Slams $10Bn Volume Since Launch: Best Solana Meme Coin to Buy?

Over $10 billion in cumulative volume has been processed on PumpSwap, the new decentralized exchange (DEX) from the creators of the Solana (SOL) memecoin launchpad, Pump.fun – but what are the best Solana meme coins to buy for April?

Pump.fun launched its own DEX on March 20 to give a platform to its successful meme coins, bypassing the traditional route to Raydium, the leading Solana-based DEX, and automated market makers (AMMs).

PumpSwap Helping To Breathe Life Back Into The Dying Solana Memecoin Space

At the peak of the meme coin hype in January, Raydium processed a quarter of the total DEX volume across all blockchains, mostly due to the sheer number of meme coins graduating from Pump.fun.

Since the majority of Solana meme coins have since died completely or are 70-95% down from those January highs, Pump. fun and Raydium’s volume has fallen off a cliff.

However, this past weekend, according to DefiLlama, PumpSwap processed just under 15% of the total volume the leading Solana DEXs processed. Raydium led the way with the largest market share at 47.5%. Meteora and Whirlpool both processed between 12% and 13%.

According to DefiLlama, in just over 10 days since its launch, PumpSwap has generated over $20 million in protocol fees, and its liquidity providers have received over $5 million in fees.

Over the past 24 hours, PumpSwap has processed over $3.2 billion in trading volume, more than 10 times Raydium’s volume, which was $298 million in the same time frame.

Seemingly in response to Pump.fun and its launch of PumpSwap, Raydium recently announced that it is working on a meme coin launchpad of its own called LaunchLab.

It will act as a direct competitor to Pump.Fun, and with each entity having its own launchpad and DEX, they will have no need for one another. The Solana community will have the final decision on whether Raydium or Pump. Fun will become the number one launchpad/DEX combo on the network.

SOL has had a relatively tame reaction in response to the increased activity on Solana. For the past three days, it has been in a tight range between $122 and $130 and is currently trading at around $125.50. If SOL can hold above $125 and turn it to a strong support level, the market will hope in April for it to revisit its March highs of $175.
