The Ethereum price is holding its ground, barely. Trading at approximately $2,280, up just 0.6% in 24 hours, ETH is caught in a tug-of-war between stubborn buyers and a wall of exchange supply that keeps threatening to push prices lower. The question isn’t whether the support holds today, it’s whether it can hold when the next wave of selling hits.
Between May 6 and May 9, Binance recorded three massive ETH inflow events totaling over 439,000 ETH, roughly $1Bn worth of Ethereum flooding onto the exchange. The breakdown: 216,152 ETH ($511M) on May 6, 98,552 ETH ($224M) on May 8, and 125,146 ETH ($288M) on May 9.
On-chain analyst Darkfost described these moves as “emotional reactions more than calculated profit-taking”, spooked holders, not strategic sellers. Binance’s ETH reserves have now climbed to 3.62 million ETH, representing a striking 24.6% of all exchange-held ETH.
That level of supply concentration is the kind of detail that makes technical analysts nervous. With ETH range-bound between $2,250 and $2,450, the next move hinges on whether those reserves start flowing back out or keep building.
Can Ethereum Break $2,400 Before the Bears Retake Control?
$ETH has dropped below the $2,300 level again.
Spot demand is still weak, which means there are other sellers too apart from Garrett.

The current Ethereum price structure is, to put it plainly, fragile. The $2,250 support level has held across multiple tests, functioning like a floor that keeps getting scuffed but hasn’t cracked yet.
Resistance sits at $2,450 (the range top), with further hurdles at $2,588 and $2,850. Classic pivot analysis places the immediate pivot at $2,336.23, with R1 at $2,415.25 and S1 at $2,248.72.
The moving average picture complicates the bull case. ETH is currently trading below both its 60-day and 200-day moving averages, a setup that signals caution rather than momentum. Volume context remains muted, consistent with consolidation rather than directional conviction.
Three scenarios deserve attention right now:
- Bull case: ETH reclaims $2,400 on rising spot demand, Binance reserves begin declining, and momentum flips positive toward $2,588.
- Base case: Price continues grinding sideways between $2,250 and $2,450, with inflow spikes capping any rallies.
- Bear/invalidation: A clean breakdown below $2,250 opens the door to a retest of lower support, potentially accelerating if Binance reserves keep climbing.
Community analysis on Binance Square has flagged this zone as a “decision zone”, the kind of technical crossroads that resolves with a decisive move in either direction. Longer-term Ethereum price projections remain broadly optimistic, but the short-term path runs directly through this supply wall. Patience is the trade right now.
Maxi Doge Targets Early Mover Upside as Ethereum Price Tests Key Levels

When a large-cap asset like Ethereum gets pinned in a range by exchange supply pressure, attention naturally shifts to where asymmetric upside might still exist. Established market caps move in percentages. Early-stage presales move in multiples, with proportionally higher risk attached.
Maxi Doge (MAXI) is a meme token presale built on Ethereum (ERC-20) that leans hard into trading culture, a 240-lb canine juggernaut embodying the “1000x leverage trading mentality” (the gym-bro energy is very much intentional). The project has raised $4.7M at a current presale price of $0.0002818, with dynamic staking APY available for early participants.
Features include holder-only trading competitions with leaderboard rewards, a Maxi Fund treasury designed for liquidity and partnerships, and the kind of meme-first marketing that has historically driven viral traction in bull cycles. The tagline, “Never skip leg-day, never skip a pump”, tells you exactly what audience this targets.
