Today’s BTC USD price prediction has it sitting at $77,750, down a modest -1% over the past 24 hours, holding a range that’s barely moved while everything around it wobbles. That stability, after a 24% August rally, is the headline, but the real story is what’s happening beneath the surface with leverage and ETF flows, and it’s not what most traders expect.
The token swung between roughly $77,200 and $79,200 over the session, according to CoinGecko data, while HYPE became the lone standout among large caps, gaining +4% to near $81. Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and BNB all slipped between -1% and flat, and Tron and Dogecoin took the hardest hits, both down roughly -2%.
Strategy returned as a buyer last week with $370M in bitcoin purchases, its first acquisition in about two months, a signal that institutional appetite hasn’t disappeared even as retail leverage has.
Macro headwinds are mounting, with traders now pricing in roughly 64% odds of a rate move at the September 16 Federal Reserve meeting, up sharply from 36% before Chair Kevin Warsh’s Jackson Hole remarks, and oil’s climb toward $91 a barrel is now feeding directly into the rates conversation. That interplay between energy prices and Fed policy is worth tracking closely as it shapes risk appetite into September.
BTC USD Price Prediction: Can Bitcoin Hit $82,000 This Week?
$BTC just broke above the triangle range but this move looks eerily familiar.
The first time we saw this setup it ended in a -38% drawdown and the second time it led to a -30% move lower.

Bitcoin’s holding pattern around $78,000–$79,000 comes after a pullback from recent highs near $81,331, a retreat of roughly 4% that’s cooled momentum without breaking structure.
Perpetual open interest, the total value of leveraged futures contracts still open, sits at its lowest level since May, per ARP Digital partner Yusuf Fakhro, which matters because it means August’s rally was built on spot demand rather than crowded leveraged longs waiting to unwind.
Bull case: A close above the $80,000–$82,000 resistance cluster, where ETF inflows (Wintermute counted $924M across nine straight positive sessions before Friday’s $202M outflow) could resume, opens a path back toward $81,000.
Base case: continued consolidation between $76,000 and $79,500 while the market digests Fed positioning.
Bear case: a break below the $75,000 pivot support would invalidate the near-term bullish structure entirely. The $82,000 level has been rejected on every attempt since Friday, worth watching before assuming a breakout is imminent.

Bitcoin Hyper Targets Early Mover Upside as Bitcoin Tests Key Levels
Sitting below $78,000 after a +22% surge is arguably more telling than the surge itself; it suggests conviction rather than euphoria. But at Bitcoin’s market capitalization, even a clean breakout to $82,000 translates to single-digit percentage gains.
For traders chasing asymmetric upside, that math is pushing attention toward earlier-stage infrastructure plays built around Bitcoin’s own scaling problem.
Enter Bitcoin Hyper ($HYPER), positioning itself as the first Bitcoin Layer 2 (a secondary network built atop Bitcoin to process transactions faster and cheaper) with Solana Virtual Machine integration, claiming performance that outpaces Solana itself. The presale has raised $33,092,631.38 to date, with tokens priced at $0.0136855 and staking rewards advertised at a high APY.
Its pitch: low-latency transaction processing, SVM-powered smart contracts, and a decentralized canonical bridge for moving BTC in and out of the chain, bringing programmability to a chain historically known for neither speed nor flexibility.
