AVAX Price Just Broke Below A Critical Support: After $20, Is Avalanche Heading To $10?
Although Avalanche is still up in the market cap rankings, and supporters expect the AVAX price to nothing but 100X in the coming years, AVAX USD is struggling in the short term.
The genesis of all their troubles is the dump on October 10. On this Friday, AVAX prices dropped by over -70% in one day, sliding from around $28 before bottoming at $8.5.
Technically, it may take weeks, if not months, before the AVAX price breaks from this mega range. And being a bearish bar with super high trading volume, AVAX USD prices must first clear the local resistance level at around $25.
In the mind of AVAX perma bulls, the plan was for AVAX USDT to ease past this liquidation zone and pump to over $30, effectively reversing losses. However, the bad news, which is crushing, is that the Avalanche price is ticking lower.
Over the past two days, the coin fell below $20, a critical support level. If bears press on today, there is a high probability of the Avalanche price extending losses and mirroring those of October 10, plunging to $10, if not the 2025 lows.
Still, traders on Binance and OKX are bullish AVAX despite the obvious drawdown, not limited to Avalanche only. The long-short ratio on Binance and OKX, on average, is above two, signaling confidence among traders.

However, traders should note that open interest, which is the number of open positions across major perpetual exchanges, is declining. It currently stands at $528M, down from $667M ten days ago.
