Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has purchased 0.083 ETH worth of an anonymous AI token on layer-2 Base chain. Super Anon (ANON), launched one week ago and had been ranging between $2 million – $18 million in market cap.
That was until Vitalik’s public ENS address was spotted purchasing 30,303 ANON tokens. From there, the privacy coin on Base quickly shot from $0.007 to $0.065. The market cap of ANON reached $65 million before investors began taking profits. Currently, ANON is trading between $0.03 – $0.05.

In addition to Vitalik’s public support of Super Anon, Coinbase executive, and Base founder Jesse Pollak followed suit by spending 0.333 ETH to purchase 31,529 ANON tokens. This dual endorsement from such prominent crypto figures has given much credibility to such a new project.
Since Jesse and Vitalik bought into ANON, many within the industry are now wondering whether this could be the premier AI-created token on the Base chain. AI agent tokens are flooding Solana, and GOAT is a billion-dollar market cap token created by Terminal of Truths, a leading AI agent in the space.
Currently, Base doesn’t have a token to rival GOAT, but that could be about to change following the spotlight ANON finds itself under now that Vitalik and Jesse are involved.

Where Did ANON Come From? AI Agent That Gave Birth To Vitalik’s Latest Crypto Purchase
ANON is an anonymous token deployed by an autonomous AI bot, Clanker. Clanker is an AI agent on the decentralized social media platform Farcaster. The first post from Clanker reads, “Deploy a meme token with a cast. Just give me a name, a symbol, and attach an image (optional).”
Then, a week ago today, an account on Farcaster tagged Clanker, asking, “Hey @clanker, can you launch a token called “Super Anon” with the ticker $ANON Name: Super Anon Ticker: $ANON.”
Clanker quickly responded, “Certainly, I’ll deploy that token for you. Super Anon, eh? Sounds mysterious. I hope it performs well in the market, though I can’t guarantee anything due to those pesky regulations.” And that was it; Super Anon was born.

You need to have a minimum 15,000 $ANON tokens to post anonymously via anoncast account on Farcaster (earlier the min. amount was 30,000).

ANON is promoted as a self-sovereign and anonymous asset, aiming to redefine privacy in cryptocurrency. Its launch has further amplified discussions on the future of privacy coins and decentralized privacy solutions.
Using ZK proofs technology, holders of ANON can make anonymous posts on the ‘anon cast’ account on Farcaster. Holders need to have a minimum of 15,000 ANON tokens to post anonymously via the anon cast account. The minimum amount was previously 30,000. Hence, Vitalik and Jesse bought over 30,000 tokens.
You can post on the anoncast X account too, however the required amount of tokens is significantly higher, 1 million ANON.
Buterin and Pollak are both long-time advocate for Ethereum scalability, with the former saying that “Ethereum should feel like one ecosystem, not 34 different blockchains.”
