The Director of the Litecoin Association Andrew Vegetabile (@TheRealMage) has publicly challenged Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong to a public debate over his recent Twitter comments regarding the validity of altcoins. This debate will take place on a radio program if accepted by Armstrong.

The original tweet from Armstrong declared that altcoins are a distraction from bitcoin and side chains.

Armstrong’s comments garnered a strong reaction from many in the alt coin communities and those who consider themselves long on bitcoin.

In the midst of the tweets from Armstrong, Vegetabile tweeted a reply stating he wished to have a public debate with Armstrong.

Vegetabile was also challenged by Homero Joshua Garza to a debate recently that Garza later reneged on. Now it appears the Litecoin Association Director would like a public challenge regarding the validity of Armstrong’s comments.

Whether or not Armstrong will take Vegetabile’s offer up or not remains to be seen. Vegetabile told Coin Fire in an email,

I feel that if a CEO is so bold as to make a statement and attempt to shut down all other markets he should be able to back up his assertions.
