Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has advocated for Bitcoin-Only strategic reserve after US President Donald Trump announced that XRP (Ripple), SOL (Solana), and ADA (Cardano) would be included in the US strategic reserve, along with Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).
In a post on X, Armstrong said Bitcoin is the “best choice” for US. On 3 March 2025, Armstrong said that he is “still forming an opinion on asset allocation.”
“Just Bitcoin would probably be the best option – simplest, and clear story as successor to gold,” he said.

Armstrong’s recommendation came in response to White House AI and Crypto Czar David Sacks on X, where the Coinbase executive outlined two potential frameworks for structuring the national cryptocurrency reserve.
