Is Tim Walz good for crypto? What an insanely terrible VP pick. Not Kamala’s choice of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz – but JD Vance.
It’s worth repeating: the vice president pick is supposed to balance the ticket, and Walz does exactly that for presidential nominee Kamala Harris.
Walz brings enough old nostalgic grandpa energy to balance out the “yaaas queen” energy of Kamala.
Walz has been a massive boost to Kamala, while Vance has been an overwhelming negative to Donald Trump.
Trump may naturally have a 10 in his luck stat, but he and his campaign team have no clue about politics. That said, what is Walz’s stance on regulating crypto?
Who is Tim Walz: A Closer Look at the Minnesota Governor
Both presidential and vice presidential nominees have been opaque on crypto regulation. The most we got out of the Republican ticket was that Trump would end the tirade on crypto regulation.
Tim Walz, known for his green policies and progressive partnerships, has never publicly spoken about crypto—at least, not that we could dig up.
His silence is leaving the crypto world guessing about his influence on future regulations.
“Tim Walz hasn’t yet nailed his colours to the mast in terms of Bitcoin and crypto in general,” Darren Parkin, editorial director of The Digital Commonwealth, posted on X. “However, he’s a stickler for regulation. Make of that what you will.”
While Trump has warmed up to crypto recently, Kamala Harris has been saying she wants a “reset” with crypto companies.
This could mean that crypto regulations could be favorable no matter who’s in office come 2025.
Looking Ahead: Implications for Crypto Post-Election
With 91 days to the election, Trump seems like the obvious pro-crypto choice, but Harris doesn’t spell a disaster either.
We think the bull run will only be slightly delayed under a Kamala presidency, not fully canceled.
Trump is going to have to turn his campaign around soon if he wants to win because the Kamala camp is throwing a party, and Americans seem more receptive to that than his normal doom and gloom. Also, we’re sure he’d like to have his VP pick back, as, in JD Vance’s words, it was a “gut punch” to be running against Kamala and not Joe Biden.
If Trump had a second chance, he’d probably choose Hawaiian senator Tulsi Gabbard or former presidential candidate Nikki Hayley.
Trump better find out how to throw a party quickly because this country loves a party, and it’s hard to compete with the one Kamala has right now:
