Did Warren Buffett sell his stocks? A better question: How did he predict that Trump’s second term would completely differ from the first?

The Oracle of Omaha doesn’t need a microphone to own the room. Before 2025, Buffett shocked the world when he shed Apple shares and other U.S. stocks, amassing a mountain of cash and stirring debate over trade policies.

I actually bought Bitcoin in December because I thought all those tariffs would be a nothingburger, and look where we are now. So what is Buffett’s next prediction?

Did Warren Buffett Sell His Stocks? Buffett’s Big Move in 2025

Remember when Buffett and all the other richest people in the world started dumping everything and you thought you knew better?

One thing Buffett has on all of us is good instincts, solid connections and a sh*tload of money to spend on analysis. His army of analysts and insiders must be incredible. They knew that Trump’s term would be aggressive, expansionist, etc.

Berkshire Hathaway didn’t just stack cash last year; it hoarded $334 billion, a jaw-dropping war chest built by unloading $134 billion in stocks. Apple took the biggest hit, with Berkshire’s stake shriveling from 906 million shares ($174 billion) to just 300 million ($75 billion).

Despite rising share prices, Bank of America wasn’t spared either, with a 34% cut. So, if you’re asking, ‘Did Warren Buffett sell his stocks?’ it’s not the right question. The right question is what will he buy?

Warren Buffet’s Record Cash Pile Amid Market Uncertainty

Buffett’s decision to cut Apple shares before the market dipped has made him a social media darling yet again. His mantra, “Be greedy when others are fearful,” is echoing again as investors contemplate whether we’ve hit the bottom.

While Buffett has not made any big investments during this crash, his company, Berkshire Hathaway, has climbed 12% over the last six months. Compare that to Tesla, up 2%, and Microsoft, down 11% in the same period.

Buffett also hasn’t minced words about Trump’s tariffs, calling them “an act of war, to some degree.” He thinks they’re supposed to boost U.S. manufacturing but mainly ends up taxing consumers in disguise.

“When governments impose tariffs, they raise the cost of imported goods, forcing businesses to either absorb those costs or pass them on to consumers,” Buffett remarked, adding, “The tooth fairy doesn’t pay for them!”

What Investors Can Learn From Warren Buffet in 2025

Buffett plays the long game. Stocks like Coca-Cola and American Express have stayed in his portfolio for generations despite Wall Street’s ADHD. I’ve never seen so much wealth concentrated so easily while people like me lost all their money to crypto memes. GG, well played by the winner of capitalism, Lord Warren Buffett.

Buffett’s investment strategy for 2025 might not suit every investor, but it offers valuable insights, especially in volatile times.

He continues to remind us that patience, discipline, and adaptability are key ingredients for financial success.  Buffett, 94, has been expecting an apocalyptic tier collapse since COVID. Maybe it’s time we all listen.
