Argentine lawyer Gregorio Dalbon has officially requested that Interpol issue a global arrest warrant for Hayden Davis, the co-creator of the controversial LIBRA token, which has sparked a political scandal in Argentina.

Dalbon, who is working with prosecutor Eduardo Taiano and judge María Servini, is seeking an Interpol Red Notice for Davis, according to reports from local media outlets Página 12 and Perfil on March 11.

The legal move comes as authorities investigate President Javier Milei’s involvement in the meme coin’s promotion.

Dalbon Warns of Risks if Hayden Davis Remains Free

Dalbon’s filing highlights the potential risks of Davis remaining free, stating that his access to substantial financial resources could allow him to flee the U.S. or go into hiding.

The lawyer emphasized that Davis’s central role in the creation and promotion of the $LIBRA cryptocurrency, combined with the international nature of the case, made it likely that Davis would attempt to evade justice.

The lawyer’s request for an arrest includes a call for his extradition to Argentina.

LIBRA, a cryptocurrency launched on February 14, quickly gained traction after being promoted by President Milei across his social media platforms. Within hours, the token reached a peak valuation of over $4 billion.

However, the value soon plummeted when the creators, including Davis, sold most of their holdings, leading to accusations that LIBRA was a pump-and-dump scheme.

This drastic price drop resulted in numerous fraud complaints filed against Milei, both in Argentina and with the U.S. Justice Department.

President Milei has denied actively promoting the token, claiming he merely “spread the word” about it. In a subsequent interview with YouTuber Stephen Findeisen, known as “Coffeezilla,” Davis defended the LIBRA token, describing it as a failure rather than a scam.

Davis, who along with his firm Kelsier Ventures was a major beneficiary of the token’s launch, reportedly made around $100 million from the project, though he denied owning or selling any of the tokens himself.

Further controversy arose when Davis allegedly bragged about paying Milei’s sister, Karina Milei, to have the president share details about the token on social media. Davis later denied this claim, asserting that he had no records of such a transaction on his phone.

Who is Hayden Mark Davis?

As the CEO of Kelsier Ventures, Hayden Mark Davis directly spearheaded the launch of LIBRA, which quickly became infamous. Based in Los Angeles, California, his LinkedIn profile describes him as a “serial entrepreneur.”

Like Kelsier Ventures, Davis founded Luxury Drip in May 2020, though the specifics of its operations remain unclear.  Furthermore, the impact of these companies on the market remains under the radar.

Although Davis publicly presents himself as an entrepreneur, little is known about his background. His online footprint is minimal, sparking curiosity when he visited Casa Rosada to meet with President Milei, who was described as an advisor on blockchain and AI.
