Robinhood’s latest update adds tools aimed squarely at advanced traders, including short selling, which was a feature not previously available on the app. The company also introduced overnight index options, support for multiple brokerage accounts, and new functions inside its pro platform, Legend.
Some of the most notable changes, though, are designed for everyday users. Robinhood rolled out Custom Scans, its first AI-driven tool, letting investors use a large language model to build indicators or screen stocks without coding.

Robinhood Summit 2025: Will Robinhood Unveil New Pro-grade Trading Features and Crypto Listings?
Short answer: NO. We didn’t see much from the crypto side of things, but expect some of those announcements on Thursday.
Instead we saw Robinhood preview its upcoming social media platform, a nod to its early days as a pioneer in social trading. Launching next year, Robinhood Social will let verified users share trade ideas, follow strategies, copy trades, and track “whales” ranging from hedge funds and insiders to politicians. Looking at you Nancy Pelosi and Ted Cruz.
Robinhood will be partnering with crypto exchange Bitstamp going forward. Together with Bitstamp’s exchange rails, users could see tighter spreads, faster settlement, and more assets with institutional-grade custody. 99Bitcoins analysts anticipate better USD/USDC rails, deeper order books, and cross-venue routing that narrows the “pro vs. retail” gap.
