Bitcoin Retail Outlet

A business that sells (and potentially buys) bitcoins directly to customers. The service keeps a certain amount of bitcoin reserves on hand that it has purchased. If customer orders exceed the amount of its reserves, the outlet may make orders on behalf of the customers on an exchange.

Typically this service is offered as an online website (for example, Coinbase.com). For a full list of outlets, see “Bitcoin Exchanges and Outlets”.
