99Bitcoins Market Indices

Four readings we compute ourselves from our own market snapshots — a capitalisation index, a sentiment score, an altcoin-season gauge and the dominance split. No third-party widgets.

Index level

A capitalisation-weighted index of the twenty largest assets in our coverage, recomputed on every market snapshot. It moves with the part of the market that actually carries weight, which makes it a cleaner read on direction than a simple average across hundreds of coins.

Why we compute our own indices

Embedding somebody else's widget means inheriting their coverage, their refresh cadence and their outages. Every index on this page is derived from snapshots we captured and stored ourselves, which means we can state precisely what went into it, show its history, and keep serving the last known good value when an upstream source has a bad hour.
