Coverage on this ranking: value locked on every row, fees on about four in five, DEX volume on just over half, and a token price on roughly a quarter — many large protocols have no token. Blank cells are gaps in the source, never zeros.

Which metric matters?
TVL measures trust — how much capital people are willing to leave in a contract. It is also the easiest metric to inflate with incentives and double-counting across wrapped assets. Fees measure revenue: real money users paid to use the thing, and the hardest number to fake. Active wallets measure reach, but a wallet is free to create, so high counts with negligible fees usually indicate farming rather than demand.
Read all three together. Any one of them alone can be made to tell a flattering story.
Why some columns are sparse
These metrics come from different pipelines and they do not cover the same protocols. Value locked and fees come from DefiLlama and are near-complete. Wallet and transaction counts come from chain activity data and only attach to protocols whose smart contracts have been mapped — currently around 90 of them. Token price and market cap only exist for protocols that issued a token at all, which most of the largest ones never did.
Rather than show one wide table that is mostly empty, we split it: each board ranks on a metric and carries only the columns that metric's source actually populates.
