Re: Recent Coinbase Review

Gregory Weimer asked 5 months ago

I’m a Newbie and I understand for example, if I bought Bitcoin from Coinbase, it’s a public record so to speak. I’ve been told to use a mixing service for purchases if you want to remain anonymous. How can Coinbase know what I purchased, from whom, etc, if mixed?
Also, I have a Mycelium wallet with 4 cents in it..lol Is this a good wallet for a Newbie?

Thank you kindly,
Greg Weimer

Hey Greg nice to meet you!
If you want Coinbase to not track your transactions you can indeed use a mixing service. However that may also jump on their radar. The best thing would probably be to send the Bitcoins from Coinbase to another wallet (e.g. Mycellium) and then use the Bitcoins for whatever it is you want.
In short, buy Bitcoins from Coinbase, but don’t use their wallet for transactions. Here’s a guide about how to use Bitcoins anonymously.
Also, here’s a short illustration of what I’ve just said…

They may get paranoid in not using their wallet? I plan on buying bitcoin using my Bluebird AE debit or cash. Maybe? Thanks again!
