I would like to know if there’s a difference between a Bitcoin wallet and Bitcoin public address. Thanks.
Awesome question Samuel.
A Bitcoin wallet often refers to the program that generates your Bitcoin public addresses. You may also sometimes here it named a Bitcoin client.
A Bitcoin wallet can generate many public addresses from the same private key. That’s why if you have a wallet like Coinbase for example, you’ll notice your public address changes from time to time. This is done in order to keep you from reusing the same public address twice (for privacy purposes).
If you want a full understanding of this watch this short video:
I have a add-on question.
Bitcoin wallet = Bitcoin address + private keys
This bitcoin address should be private and only known to the user?
Need to clarify this as you said, private keys can generate many public addresses.
