Hey, I wanted to know if it’s possible to purchase less than one Bitcoin? What’s the minimal amount?
Hi.. I have just started research on bitcoin. I wish I could do it in 2015.
Am I late to investigate?.. how is the future of bitcoin in 2020?
Is it right time to Investigate? also there are too many website to investigate.
Kindly advise which one is best and secure. I am in India.
Hey John, thanks for posting this question, we actually get asked that quite often.
The short answer is yes, you can buy or trade less than one Bitcoin. Each bitcoin is divisible to the 8th decimal place, meaning each bitcoin can be split into 100,000,000 pieces
The smallest amount of Bitcoin available is called a “Satoshi” and it equals 0.00000001 Bitcoin. Some additional terms are Bit = 0.000001 Bitcoins and mBit = 0.0001 Bitcoins. So as you can see it’s definitely possible to trade with smaller amounts of Bitcoins.
When you go to an exchange you will usually be able to specify the exact amount of Bitcoins you’d like to buy, in Bitcoins or in your local currency.
