Transparency in Funds

By Coin Fire

Last Updated: Jan 2, 2018

what is bitcoin

Coin Fire will be adding a new level of transparency yet to be seen in the cryptocurrency news space beginning April 2015.

We’ve received questions from readers, users, and the public about how our site operates financially, our advertising, how we use the bitcoins we receive from tipping, and sales of Coin Fire+. We are committed to being transparent and providing this information for our readers.

In April, we will begin publishing Coin Fire’s full finances and continue to do so each month moving forward.

We will publish a full accounting of our business expenses, tips, advertisement revenues, travel expenses, and other costs and/or revenues for the site. We will provide a full accounting of our expenses so that everyone can see our profits or losses along with a description of each transaction.

As editor, I am committed to maintaining transparency across our site. I want our readers to see that we aren’t accepting payments for features or holding on to cryptocurrencies. We hope this information will be helpful to our readers and be a major step forward for more transparency in the industry.

The first report will be issued during the first week of May and account for the month of April. This gives our team the proper time needed to begin creating a real-time accounting system on our site. This system will show our current balances across all wallets and a listing of each transaction.

If you have any questions or feedback about this exciting new development, please feel free to leave us a comment.

  1. Why wouldn’t i just use CoinDesk instead? They have better coverage, real reporters, not run as some uni students’ computer science project. I would rather read professional news that some crap that a teenager “Bitcoin enthusiast” wrote in broken english.

  2. You guys are hands down the best bitcoin news site out there. I look forward to subscribing to Coinfire+ when it becomes available. Keep up the good work!
