A fake Uber scam driver was arrested for allegedly stealing $300,000 worth of cryptocurrency from two passengers in Scottsdale, Arizona, in a new crypto scam.
Nuruhussein Hussein has been accused of luring the passengers in front of a local hotel by posing as the Uber they had ordered, per the Scottsdale Police Department.
A report from a local news station claims that he even addressed them by name. The same report does not explain how Hussein knew the passengers’ names or that they had even ordered an Uber.

Fake Uber Scam Driver Tricked Victims Into Handing Over Phones in Crypto Scam
Once Hussein had the passengers inside his vehicle, he asked the victims if he could borrow their phone, claiming that his had broken. In one case, he offered to check the passenger’s Uber app to see why it was showing that the driver had not yet arrived at the pickup spot.
With the victim’s phone in his possession, Hussein reportedly opened the Coinbase app and began transferring the funds to a wallet under his control. In one instance, a passenger became suspicious of what Hussein was doing with their phone. Hussein allegedly told them to “chill or something bad would happen.”
The US Secret Service arrested Hussein on December 11 and charged him with theft, fraud, and money laundering. Since then, prosecutors have requested and obtained a $200,000 cash bond. If Hussein can pay the bond, he will be subject to electronic monitoring.
Hussein has also been barred from accessing the internet or traveling overseas. This is due to concerns that he could destroy evidence or flee to Ethiopia, a frequent travel destination of Hussein’s. He is scheduled to appear back in court on December 18.

Wall Street Pepe is the hottest new Pepe-themed meme coin and is cornering the market by building a VIP community of WEPE holders with exclusive access to trading tips, insider strategies, and alpha calls.
Just over a week has passed since the WEPE presale began. The project has now raised over $25 million, and it is fast becoming one of the biggest presales of this year.
The OG PEPE recently mooned to a $10 billion market cap, with many Pepe-beta plays now following suit. Wall Street Pepe’s early success can be attributed to the market’s interest in frog-themed meme coins. Once you factor in the utility on offer for WEPE holders, it is no surprise that this presale is raising $2 million per day.
There are less than 24-hours remaining before the WEPE presale moves onto the next price stage increase, so there isn’t long left to secure a bag at these low prices.
