Even with ETH printing its strongest daily gains since 2021, all talk within crypto is back on PEPE the frog, the leading meme coin on Ethereum. It is up over 40% in the past 24 hours and has caused other frog-themed meme coins to spike. One frog token in particular is causing lots of chatter, and that is MIND of Pepe.
Per CoinGecko, the ‘frog-theme’ category is up over 53% on the day, with only Fwog (FWOG) and Purple Pepe (PURPE) topping the gains made by the OG PEPE. FWOG is up 56% while PURPE has surged 51%.

Is A Frog-Themed Bull Run Upon Us? PEPE The Frog Thinks So
The overnight pump from PEPE and its beta frog meme coins is leading many to believe that this coming bull run will be led by the frogs. Per CoinGecko, the combined market cap for the frog meme coin category stands at $7.3 billion, with PEPE accounting for $5.5 billion of that number.
Other notable members of the category include TURBO ($431m), BOME ($133m) and APU ($85m), amongst others. The rise in appetite for frog-themed meme coins comes from the dominance of the OG PEPE.
During the crypto crash in early 2025, PEPE the frog was one of the strongest coins on the market, only falling 75% from its all-time high while other major cap tokens were sinking 90-95%.
Even now, while many coins are still anywhere from 70-85% from their highs, PEPE is only 53% away from its December 2024 all-time high. The strength of PEPE is evidenced in its quick rebound from the lows, where it spent less than a month from March 8 to April 7 at the range bottom.
Again, in comparison to other tokens that spent multiple months in horrendous downtrends, PEPE was in-and-out. At its worst, the leading frog coin dropped to $2.4 billion in market cap and has already more than doubled in value since then, with it currently valued at $5.3 billion.
On December 9, 2024, PEPE hit its all-time high price, which resulted in a market cap of $11.1 billion, meaning a 2.2x pump from here will take it to new heights.
PEPE is currently the top performing crypto asset among the top 100 tokens on CoinGecko, by market cap. It leads the way with its 46% daily pump, with the number two token, VIRTUAL, way behind with a mere 25% daily candle.
