Malone Lam Yu Xuan, a 20-year-old from a small country in Asia, Singapore, has entered the spotlight with his alleged involvement in a $320 million US crypto heist. Once a secondary school student in Choa Chu Kang, Lam transitioned from a gamer to a figure best dubbed a “crypto whizz-kid”, showing a rapid rise with his lavish lifestyle and “buy whatever” habit.

This all began with Lam dropping out of school at 13 or 14. He then shifted his focus to online gaming, where he operated under aliases “Greavys” and “Anne Hathaway.” His journey took him to the US in October 2023 on a tourist visa, which later expired, marking the start of his deeper plunge into the crypto world.

Malone Lam: Facing 20 Years from Alleged Crypto Heist

In August 2024, Lam allegedly stole over 4,100 Price Volume in 24h Price 7d , in one of the largest crypto heist in US history. Alongside his American accomplice and gaming buddy, Jeandiel Serrano, Lam executed a complex scam using social engineering tactics to deceive his victim.

Malone Lam then used his stolen funds to lead an extravagant lifestyle that drew attention. The Singapore crypto thief is best known for using the fund to buy 31 luxury cars, including a $3.8 million Pagani Huayra. He also has multiple Miami mansions with rents up to $68,000 monthly and a $1.8 million watch.

In addition, Lam’s spending spree extended to nightclub excesses. Lam would drop $665,000 in a single night and gift designer bags to women, showing his notoriety.

Currently detained in Virginia, Malone Lam faces trial in October 2025. He is charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering, each carrying a potential 20-year sentence. At the moment, Lam’s legal team is pushing a suppression motion, demanding search warrant details, while prosecutors estimate a 14-to-17.5-year jail term.
