Looking to buy items in the Windows Store, XBOX store, XBOX music, or XBOX video store with bitcoins?

Starting this morning via a partnership with Bitpay you now can.

“For us, this is about giving people options and helping them do more on their devices and in the cloud,” says Eric Lockard, corporate vice president of Universal Store at Microsoft. “The use of digital currencies such as bitcoin, while not yet mainstream, is growing beyond the early enthusiasts. We expect this growth to continue and allowing people to use bitcoin to purchase our products and services now allows us to be at the front edge of that trend.”

It is important to note that purchases with bitcoins from Microsoft do have some limitations. You may only buy content from the available services listed above and your purchases DO NOT qualify for refunds under ANY circumstances. Also, you must fund your Microsoft account using bitcoins before making a purchase as they do not directly accept the currency at this time. The service is also limited to US customers only at this time.
