Global superstar Drake is in the news again after another high-profile sporting bet. He once again used the crypto betting platform Stake to bet $300,000 in Bitcoin on Canada, beating Argentina yesterday in the semi-final of the Copa América tournament.

Drake Now Down 7-Figures In Bitcoin Bets

Drake is a brand ambassador for Stake and regularly bets on big sporting events. The superstar went big with this latest bet in a big show of support for his home nation. The bet slip showed that a Canada win would have seen a $2.88 million return on his $300,000 outlay.

Unsurprisingly, Argentina beat Canada comfortably, 2-0, simultaneously ending Maple Leaf’s run at the tournament and Drake’s hopes of a 7 figure payout.

Lionel Messi was on the scoresheet for Argentina, scoring the second goal of the match.

Away from his football antics, Messi has found himself featured in crypto news recently. He has been promoting the WATER meme coin alongside fellow Barcelona legend Ronaldinho. WATER shot up over 300% following the ads from the two football greats.

The Argentina social media team were happy to kick Drake while he was down with a savage Kendrick reference on social media.

Back to Drake, the star is on a horrendous streak with his sporting bets on Stake. After losing his latest wager, he is down around $1.3m in Bitcoin.

In June, he wagered $1 million between the NBA Finals and NHL Stanley Cup Finals, losing both.

Overall, it is an insignificant loss to the global megastar, especially as he is a paid ambassador of Stake. There’s a good chance he isn’t even placing the bets in the first place, either way it’s a rough losing streak!

Argentina Clap Back At The Superstar With Savage Reference

Drake shares his Stake bets on his Instagram account, which is seen by his whopping 145 million followers. In a hilarious turn of events, the post was picked up by Argentina social media team.

After the match had ended, the football team posted a photo with the words “Not Like Us”, alongside the caption, “Not like us, not with us.”

“Not Like Us” is a diss track released earlier this summer by Kendrick Lamar as part of an ongoing feud between the two rappers.

The song went viral, climbing to number one in the charts, with many considering it one of the greatest diss tracks ever.

GOAT has recognized GOAT as Web3’s largest poker room, CoinPoker, becomes regional sponsor of the Argentina National Football Team.

CoinPoker and Argentina – winner of the 2022 FIFA World Cup – have become official partners in a new two-year deal.

The collaboration will see CoinPoker players targeted with Argentine Football Association (AFA) promotions, such as tickets to Argentina home games, signed merchandise, and exclusive tournaments.

Like the Argentina national team, CoinPoker is the world champion at what it does: crypto poker.

Since launching in 2017, the business has attracted over 200,000 active users.

Ethereum-backed deposits and withdrawals, instant payouts, and market-leading bonuses and promotions have made CoinPoker a revolutionary space within online gambling. And alongside crypto and online gambling, Web3 poker is only getting bigger.

CoinPoker players currently benefit from extremely competitive rakeback rates alongside huge value-added bonuses and promotions. Blockchain has helped the company solve key obstacles stunting online poker’s growth, including ring-fencing, payment processing issues, managing game integrity, enabling verifiable random number generation, and tapping Web3 marketing initiatives to expand reach.

So, like Argentina, CoinPoker is the undisputed champion in its area of specialty. Here’s to the duo remaining respective title holders for many years to come.

As always, GOAT recognizes GOAT.
