The first Australian Beers4Bitcoins, in Sydney, was such an amazing success that the team behind the event decided to turn it into a monthly tradition, starting in November. The meeting will be held on the first Sunday of each month, at the Old Fitzroy.
“It’s a great pub, the BitPOS system is all set up and Gaz, the publican, took a bit of a gamble supporting us so we feel it’s only fair to return the favour”, Matt Hoare, one of the organizers and member of the group BitcoinSYD, told Bitcoin Examiner.
Formally, the social gathering will occur from 3 pm to 6 pm, “but people are free to stay at the bar until closing”, around midnight, Hoare adds. Besides allowing the local Bitcoiners to drink fresh beer and other beverages in exchange for cryptocurrency, the event will also be a great opportunity to show other clients how Bitcoin works.
“We do have plans for presentations, but the focus will be ‘hands on’, so examples of new systems or services that can be demonstrated to the crowd will be best”, Matt says.
If you’re in Sydney, why don’t you make an appearance? The first monthly Beers4Bitcoins will be held on November 3 and heck the latest updates regarding the meeting here.
