As we spoke about earlier this week Charlie Shrem had promised that he would be making an announcement regarding Bitcoin being accepted at a major hotel in a single location as part of a pilot program.

This afternoon he announced that the Park Slope Holiday Inn Express on Union Street in Brooklyn would begin a pilot program with Shrem to accept Bitcoin.

Coin Fire had begun speculating earlier this week as to which hotel chain the mystery hotel would fair from of which Holiday Inn was amongst the group (owned by IHG). Expedia also began accepting Bitcoin this week for reservations online but this announcement takes it even further with reservations being accepted for Bitcoin via the phone, online and in-person.
