Blast Reveal Airdrop Date and Participants Will be Receiving a Bigger Bag as an Apology for the Delays

June 26 has been announced as the date for the Blast Airdrop with users hoping for a big bag to rival the vast Blur airdrop back in 2023.

The much-anticipated airdrop for Blast has been announced: June 26. Blast is an Ethereum Layer 2 (L2) scaling network from the team behind the NFT marketplace, Blur. June 26 is later than originally anticipated, as there have been several delays, but the team has good news for those waiting.

The team posted the following from the official Blast X account: “We know this is past our initial estimate of May, and we’re sorry for the delay.” They added, “The airdrop allocation will be increased to account for this.”

Blast Airdrop Entering Final Distribution Stage

In the same post, they announced that two final distributions of Blast Gold points would be held before the token launch.

Blast Gold works like a traditional airdrop point system, but it is for the network’s builders/creators instead of the users.

With this being said, many builders of dApps (decentralized apps) on the network have gone on to distribute their awarded gold to users, the most popular being ‘Fantasy Top,’ an NFT game based around Crypto Twitter influencers.

The tokenomics for the airdrop are as follows: Half of the airdrop allocation will be allotted to developers via Blast Gold, and the other half will be distributed to early network users, including those who bridged funds to the network before the main net went live at the end of February.

So far, users have bridged over $2.3 billion worth of digital assets to earn points toward the upcoming airdrop.

Will Blast be as Lucrative as the $800M Blur Airdrop in 2023?

Blast is copying the playbook used by Blur for their airdrop back in 2023, which saw over $800 million worth of BLUR tokens airdropped to early users of the Blur NFT platform.

The Blur airdrop was built heavily around user incentives, and it paid off, making it a key player in the NFT marketplace space from day one. It was also the most valuable airdrop of 2023.

Blast looks nailed on to follow in the footsteps of Blur, with many investors expecting 4-figure USD returns for minimal amounts of bridging and interacting with the various dApps on the network.
