7 CommentsThe world leader in business solutions for the Bitcoin economy, BitPay, has partnered with VisualTouch, Toshiba’s premiere POS software solution, currently used by more than 6,000 merchants spread across 1,600 locations.
The integration with the point of sale system will allow cryptocurrency to reach thousands of new businesses and even more users in the hospitality, food, grocery, retail and concession industries.
“This partnership greatly expands the number of businesses that will now be able to accept Bitcoin. BitPay is extremely excited about the relationship and the opportunity to expand the Toshiba VisualTouch solution to include Bitcoin”, said Tony Gallippi, BitPay’s executive chairman.
The ability for customers to use Bitcoin at businesses with VisualTouch POS systems provides merchants an extremely loyal customer base who will go out of their way to support companies that accept Bitcoin.

On the other side, Marius Kimel, president of Visual Information Products (the team responsible for Toshiba’s VisualTouch), guaranteed he was equally excited with the good news. “We are truly excited to announce our partnership with BitPay in order to bring enhanced capabilities to our current customers and entice new business through our combined leadership in this field”, he said.
Although the partnership – which ensures the increase of Bitcoin’s growth and global awareness – has already been confirmed by both companies, the official launching will only happen at the National Restaurant Association’s 2014 show, set to happen this Saturday (17th) in Chicago.
