Sending bitcoin to pay for something

I’m trying to pay for something online using bitcoin, but I’m having trouble doing so. I originally bought the right amount using coinbase, but then it put the bitcoin on hold for 6 days and wouldn’t let me send any until those 6 days were done. By the time the 6 days were over, the price had dropped enough that I didn’t have enough to pay for the thing I was trying to buy. What I want to do is buy the bitcoin and immediately send it, so I was just wondering if there is a way to buy without the hold. I don’t have the money or motivation to try to make money off of bitcoin, I just want to pay for my thing and be done with it. Help?

Hey ACB,
If Coinbase is putting you on hold and making life difficult, then my suggestion is to use an exchange other than Coinbase. I think Kraken exchange is a good alternative. They’re a little less user-friendly than  Coinbase but don’t play these kind of tricks in my experience. Once verified there, you should be able to send them money via bank transfer and buy your bitcoins for payment purposes as soon as the transfer clears. Another reason to avoid Coinbase is that they monitor the addresses to which you send your coins and may freeze your account if they see something they don’t like, such as online gambling.
