I have been trying to set up Coin base since November 14th. It says I have unlimited funds even though I put my checking account in the system. It shows my checking account is there. It also keeps telling me my account is incomplete. “You will have to add additional information about yourself, including a source of funds before you can buy digital”. Any help would be appreciated. I can’t seem to find the answer on the coin base forum. It’s very frustrating.
Did you read our article on Coinbase? It does mention one of the downsides to this exchange is that they require a lot of personal info and track your funding / spending quite closely:
Unfortunately, I haven’t heard of this specific problem before. Having unlimited funds sounds like a good thing but also like there’s an error somewhere. When you first sign up, I believe you’re limited in the amounts you can buy.
I suggest you contact Coinbase’s customer support, although this could take a while as they’re experiencing a high inflow of new clients. You could also consider using a different exchange? There are plenty of exchanges out there. Kraken and Bitstamp are both good, or you could try LocalBitcoins for a more person-to-person approach.
