I was just wondering if I’m able to mine with my personal rig.
I’m running two 1080TI, 8700K CPU, and 32GB Ram.
Would I be able to make a small profit if I mine on this rig without causing any trouble to my rig.
Yes, those rigs look pretty decent for mining! I believe you’d be able to make a little extra money by working some GPU-mineable coins. The usual recommendation for GPU mining is Ethereum, and we have a guide to mining that here:
Another popular choice is Zcash mining, here’s our guide to that:
Finally, we have a guide to mining Monero:
In order to get the most profit, you should use a pool which automatically allocates your hashes to the most profitable coin (I believe nicehash.com), or discover the most profitable coin at the current moment and update your mining choice regularly (more work but probably more profitable too):
I believe the latest Claymore miner will mine Ethereum while also mining several other coins, for no efficiency loss.
Finally, mining shouldn’t cause any major disruptions to your current operations. Much depends on the intensity setting of your mining app however – setting it really high may make your computers unusable for other applications but a low setting should allow the miner to run in the background without any problems (at least when not using other applications which are demanding of the graphics card – you have enough RAM that system memory usage won’t be a constraint).
